The problem of green energy in China

According to the statistics, before October, 2009, there are about 50 companies, which are constructing , expanding, or preparing to construct the production line of multicrystalline (poly-crystalline) silicon in more than 20 provinces in China. The scale of the construction for multicrystalline (poly-crystalline) silicon is 50,000 tons to 100,000 tons.

Regarding the wind power, there are about 70 manufacturers of wind energy now for just several years in Chna. But in fact the demands for wind power in the market of China, the capacity of the first 3 manufacturers are enough fully. That means other 67 manufacturers can't find enough demands of the market for their wind power.

But this is not the most serious problem these companies of renewable energy face.

This biggest problem is off-grid (stand-alone) for these clean energy (solar power, wind energy).

Carrot for solar power development offered by China government

China will provide 20 yuan ($2.93) per watt peak (Wp) of subsidy for solar power projects attached to buildings that have capacity of more than 50 kilowatt peak (KWp), the Ministry of Finance said, as the government makes a push for clean energy (green energy) development.

Almost all analysts of this area said the support of China government was unprecedented and would help expand the use of solar power much faster than before, when installation was hampered by high costs and limited subsidies.

China, which is the world's third largest major economy, is heavily reliant on burning coal to fuel its economic growth.

Single crystal, Multicrystalline, Amorphous silicon of solar

Single crystal silicon is the most expensive, but is also the most efficient, so less area is needed.

Single crystal cells work better in hot weather and low light conditions than multicrystalline (poly-crystalline) or amorphous cells. Because they can sometimes be smaller for the same wattage, they can reduce the wind and gravity load on systems that track the sun (as opposed to systems that are fixed in one position).

Multicrystalline (poly-crystalline) panels, while having lower efficiencies than single crystal panels, can nonetheless have the same wattage per square foot as some single crystal panels, because the cells can be rectangular, filling all of the available surface without the gaps left by round or octagonal cells used in some single crystal panels.
