Green Power in Eastern and Western Areas of China
China has made great achievements in the development of its economy in the last twenty years, especially in the eastern area, where the economic level and people's standard of living is high. Moreover, people have an increasing awareness of environmental protection, thereby contributing to the demand on green power. It is expected that more wind power projects and other renewable power (green energy) projects will be set up through the policy of green power (renewable energy) marketing.
The western areas of China have abundant renewable energy resources. But the economy of western areas is relatively poor. By means of the green power concept, customers in eastern provinces would be the major consumers of the green energy that was supplied by renewable projects in western areas. This scenario can alleviate the barrier of financing renewable projects in western areas of China. These green power concepts can also be emulated by other developed and developing countries/areas, in particular, the concept of using capital collected from developed areas to support the development of renewable power in developing area.
Green energy has played an important role in the economy of China. And it's expected this role by renewable energy will be more an more important in China.
