Going Green for Your Home with Renewable Energy
Going green for our home has become our desire now (at least some of us). There are several ways we can make our home going green. And also there are many ways we can integrate renewable energy into our daily lives for our own green home.
Below we list some actions for going green with our home.

1. A direct way of using renewable energy (green energy) is to install renewable energy (green energy) generating equipment like solar panels or wind turbines for our home.
These renewable energy (green energy) generating equipmens can be cost-effective, particularly in rural areas where the only alternative is extending long electric distribution lines to serve the house or another small load. You use solar panels to pump water in a cost-effective manner. You can also choose to augment their existing utility power with solar panels. In such arrangement, you reduce the electric bill by generating a portion of your own power needs.
Solar water heaters are another great technology we can apply in our home. Although these solar water heaters don't generate electricity, they do reduce the need for electricity or gas for your water heater. in fact, solar water heaters can provide 50-80% of the hot water needs for typical homes and businesses.
2. When building a new home or just remodeling an existing one, pay attention to the details, such as passive solar design (this takes advantage of the sun's ability to heat the house in winter simply by proper house orientation and window sizing), roof overhangs (this can be designed to keep the sunlight out in summer, let it shine in during the winter), daylighting (which allows the sun to provide much of the home's lighting needs during the day), and other factors.
3. Of course, one of the most important benefits of renewable energy (green energy, alternative energy) is that it generates electricity with little or no pollution. We can also reduce pollution by simply reducing our own energy requirements by conserving energy and making our homes more efficient.
As we learn above, solar energy and wind power is our common choice for going green. And for some people, bioenergy is also a green renewable energy source.
