About Inverter
The inverter is commend seen in our daily life. But what's an inverter?
An inverter converts the DC (Direct Current) electricity from sources such as batteries, solar panels, or fuel cells to AC (Alternating current) electricity. The electricity can be at any required voltage; and in particular it can operate AC equipment designed for mains operation, or rectified to produce DC at any desired voltage.
The applications of an inverter include:
1. DC power source utilization
2. Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
3. Induction heating
4. HVDC power transmission
5. Variable-frequency drives (VFDs, frequency inverters)
6. Electric vehicle drives
7. The general case
Because an inverter is applied in the Variable-frequency drive (frequency inverter), it is commonly that some people call frequency inverters as inverters. So sometimes, when you say the inverter, that means you refer to the frequency inverter.
